At present, there are many works that deal with virtual laboratories (VLs) in engineering-related degrees, some of them undertaken from a low cost criterion. In particular, advanced welding training is crucial in various engineering-related university programmes. At the same time, it is of vital importance, although in a more professional environment, also in medium and higher level training cycles, and in specific training for the professional accreditation of welders, inspectors and welding engineers.
