This paper reviews the different technologies of electrochemical storage from the perspective of its development. The study focuses on technologies with a high degree of maturity as the batteries are acidic, alkaline, high temperature, Lithium-ion and redox flow, and promising technologies such as the metal-air, Lithium-sulfur and sodium-ion, among others. On the other hand, describes the development objectives of the studied technologies by 2050. Finally, the different types of batteries depending on their application potential, either stationary or mobile.
