ABSTRACT
• In January 2012 Revision 7 of the Road Vehicles Inspection Manual came into effect. The text of this Manual is based on Directive 2009/40/EC, amended by Directive 2010/48/EC, which modi? es Annex II to the Directive, regarding technical inspections of motor vehicles and their trailers. It establishes, to measure the effectiveness of the service braking system of wheeled vehicles exceeding 3500 kg, that ISO 21069-1:2004 or any equivalent method shall be applied. Procedures described in the Standard were analysed in this paper with the aim to select the best one to be implemented in Vehicle Technical Inspection (VTI) test stations
