ABSTRACT: The use of the ground as heat source in air-conditioning has become a renewable energy resource increasingly booming thanks to it maintains a stable temperature in both winter and summer, from a certain depth. For the design of facilities that take advantage of this resource is necessary to know the thermal characteristics of the ground (conductivity, diffusivity and undisturbed ground temperature, etc.), from them the ground heat exchanger (GHE) is dimensioned (depth, diameter and number of boreholes). In this sense, it has been developed and built a system that allows make ground thermal response tests (TRT), to obtain ground characteristics mentioned above. This paper describes the design of the equipment and the computing software that obtains the required results.Key words: Geothermal, HVAC, renewable energy, sustainable building, ground source heat pump
