ABSTRACTThe aim of the present work is evaluating the influence of the operational variables of a renewable energy heating system, specifically biomass-based crushed olive stone, analyzing the feasibility of implementing this type of renewable energy facilities in hospitals and other buildings of Extremadura (Spain), studying how it influence energy and environmental aspects of the building in the energy consumption and management. The analysis has taken account of technical aspects related to the operation of these installations with biomass, including reliability and maintainability of the same, evaluating the problems generated by the introduction of renewable energy from biomass with bones olive crushed in hospitals.Key words: hospital, biomass, energy efficiency, environmental management.
