ABSTRACTThis paper analyzes and compares two of the first standards at the global level for the management of innovation: the UNE 166002:2006 for Spain and the BS 7000-1:2008 for the United Kingdom. During a crisis, innovation has to be seen as a key factor to overcome that crisis and it is important to know which standardized systems are available in the world to manage innovation efficiently in enterprises. This study was done in a good time, because a new standard at European level for the management of innovation is currently being developed by the European Committee for Standardization (CEN). Thus, after a review of existing standards, it delves into a deep analysis of the two standards mentioned above through a comparative study unprecedented in the state of contemporary art.KEY WORDS: innovation management, standardization, innovation, UNE 166002, BS 7000-1
