Hace más de 60 años, Bill Hewlett y Dave Packard desarrollaron una cultura que caló profundamente en la empresa que fundaron y que lleva sus nombres: Hewlett-Packard. Desde el principio, los fundadores situaron a la persona en el centro de la organización. De hecho, uno de los elementos clave de esta cultura es el modo de tratar a las personas. Hace algún tiemp, un buen amigo mío, que ocupa un puesto directivo en la filial española Agilent Technologies, me hizo llegar un breve documento que elaboró Dave Packard para la Convención anual de directivos que se celebró en Sonoma en 1958. Son 11 consejos sobre cómo tratar a las personas, que, expresados en un lenguaje claro y directo, son auténticas joyas de sabiduría.
