The genomic Model of Ecodesign and Eco (MGE2) proposes a methodology applicable to the design and development of products and sustainable systems within the paradigm C2C with the aim to optimize the interactions of any system with the environment, from the principles of the circular economy (i.e. , promoting the change of the linear economy to the current shortage to the circular of the abundance). In its first formalization, the model a full set of design techniques that encompass the three areas of sustainability in a generic manner, developing with a more specific nature the design and analysis of the environmentally friendly (getting products eco and Metabolizables). The present work is based on a second phase of research where it extends the model by integrating different techniques with the life-cycle analysis to assess the ecological sustainability and including the study of the economic and social dimension in a comprehensive manner. Through the techniques of Material Flow Analysis and Substance wide ecological assessment deconstructing all the flows involved in the system, including control of materials, the toxicity, energy and metabolic analysis of closed cycles. The eco-costs are taken as factors of basic measure for the visibility of the associated environmental impact and applies the study of the interaction of the product with the environment throughout their life-cycle to define the concept of extended producer responsibility. Finally, taking into account the developments in the field of environmental certification, complete the scope of the MGE2 by expanding the range of application in considering the possibility of designing environmentally certifiable products under ISO standards and C2C integrable in environments and unimproved building with LEED requirements, thus creating a symbiosis of certifications and articulating the holistic principle of industrial ecology.
