El mes de diciembre del pasado año, muy poco antes del final del mandato del Presidente en activo, la Casa Blanca dio a luz un documento titulado Artificial Intelligence, Automation and the Economy. Estaba encargado expresamente por Barack Obama a un grupo de expertos, advisors in economy and science, de la Presidencia que ya en octubre habían redactado Preparing the Future of Artificial Intelligence. El texto actual no solo pretendía alertar de las posibles consecuencias que la tecnología puede traer a la sociedad, sino marcar pautas y proponer estrategias para suavizar las que tuvieran más capacidad de erosionar el vigente status social.
