ABSTRACT In this paper a few points are made concerning the draft version of the EAE Instruction with regard to the earthquake resistant metal structure project, and within the application field of Building Earthquake Resistant Code (NCSE02) and Eurocode 8 in the current framework of the Technical Building Code. To be precise, after the Introduction, some foundations of the projetcs are highlighted,as well as the way of defining seismic action. Relative and absolute displacement of the ground plan is then analysed, focussing on stauctural analaysis inmediately after, and inside this one on second nature effects. The problem of lamellar tearing is subsequently addressed before finally concluding with some ideas on local conditions of ground foundations. Key words: steel structures, earthquake resistance regulations, Spanish EAE Instruction.
