The present study presents a review of the demand in both the United States and Mexico for prosthetic knee replacement surgery. The objective of this review is to analyse the feasibility of manufacturing this type of orthopaedic replacement in Mexico. The available statistics are analysed to evaluate aspects such as designing a prosthesis appropriate to the gender of the person and validating the results reported. The analysis shows a great market potential for orthopaedic devices.
