More than one century after the discovery of superconductivity, some features are surprisingly still not fully understood by physicists. As well, superconductivity applications and their potential are widely unknown, despite of their impact, already now, in our life. The aim of the following paper is to show a brief review of this astonishing phenomenon, focused on practical applications. A brief history of the superconductivity is followed by a short review of its main features and the applications devoted to energy. The paper finishes with Tecnalia activities and developments in this field and a brief digression about our vision.
