This work has as starting point an evaluation of the sustainability of projects through a software that used a group of experts of the Municipality of San Sebastian de los Reyes (Madrid). It was used in a comparative way with the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA). But when we speak about sustainable development (in its three perspective: environmental, social and economic) it is not only necessary that public institutions are involved and take responsibilities. Therefore, the general aim of this paper is to propose the possibility that the promoter of the project itself has a first assessment of the chances of success of the project using the same software and can gradually adjust their actions according to the EIA legal framework. In this way the company would have a scoring tool when making decisions in relation to changes in the initial draft guidelines. This can influence the profit margin, but it can help to obtain authorization for adjudication. We work within decision making process in multicriteria, commitment or goals.
