The growing development and massive advancement of artificial intelligence (AI) is changing the way and method of working. Furthermore, additive manufacturing (AM) or 3D printing are taking new paths to the production of increasingly functional and aesthetic elements in the industry. This work shows how artificial intelligence can be part of the urban furniture design process. The manufacturing of the resulting designs will be done using large format additive manufacturing technologies, allowing the creation of more complex, unique, and functional pieces. This communication investigates the different types and possibilities of AI in image generation and shows study cases in which its capacity is evaluated, to select the one that is most appropriate for outdoor objects (benches). The process is investigated and shown until the AI generates a quality image from a text that will also be designed. This text or prompt is designed considering a series of requirements that will be based on different investigations and a questionnaire carried out among the population. Finally, the adapted 3D models of outdoor furniture are generated so that the printing process can be as efficient as possible and pro-vides the best results.
