ABSTRACT: This paper describes a collaborative framework for scheduling and control of projects using Business Process Model and Notation (BPMN), Extended Petri Nets and commercial project management software. The framework considers resource assignment as well as precedence and resource constraints. The platform is aimed at integrated project planning, scheduling and control.The framework, developed as a decision support system, can generate several alternatives (scenarios) of resource assignment and schedules which can be evaluated according to the project objectives. The functionality of the framework has been evaluated in several real life cases in the Animation and Videogame industry in Colombia where the participating companies highlighted its ease of use and its possibilities.Keywords: Project scheduling, resources allocation, Petri Nets, project management.
