The percentage of women working in organizations or starting up their own company has increased exponentially in recent years. This trend has increased the interest of researchers and companies to study the role of women in the business world. This literature review article aims to bring a better understanding on the evolving role of women entrepreneurs in the industrial and technology organizations. We have analyzed the relevant literature on this topic in the period between the sixties and the current. The review highlights the fact that gender stereotypes that influence job performance of women in society are still present in our society; although women increasingly used and undertake business in sectors traditionally dominated by men such as industrial and technological one. The challenge for society and women is to eliminate the reasons that inhibit women to enter in these industries and in the top of organizations.
