Even serial production industry should know hot to face projects: plant commissioning, shutdown, introducing new products and similar circumstances should be managed with adequate planning and resource allocation techniques to create a schedule useful in decision making during the execution of those projects. The current complex reality, with evolving technologies and strong pressure to reach the market as soon as possible, push us to use more advanced techniques than waterfall planning, such as agile or lean. It also requires us to have a holistic view of the system because there are concurrent tasks.Actual simulation software allows, at a very affordable cost, to validate concepts and models up to a Technical Readiness Level 3 level, as we have shown in this brief analysis.This article is a brief example of new ways of scheduling by showing them in real and simple examples.
