AAbstractThe objective of the study was to evaluate the behavior of the total efficiency indicator of a water pump assembly line, initially, a failure mode and effect analysis were performed to categorize potential failures in the bottleneck station, which allowed establishing improvement actions to be implemented, focused on equipment maintenance. This process resulted in an increase in the efficiency indicator, from 77.30% to 95.13%. To continuously evaluate the effects of improvements and the impact of delay times along the assembly line, a model was developed under the system dynamics approach; as a result of the simulation, a real representation of the production flow behavior of the bottleneck station and the comparison of scenarios once the improvements are implemented are obtained.Key Words: Efficiency, bottleneck, model, simulation, scenarios
