ABSTRACT:Inventory plays a key part of the buffer between replenishment and demand processes. Therefore, it is important to maintain a balance in the total value of inventory, obtaining an economic advantage through efficient management. This article analyzes a 9-month demand behavior for 64 bath products classified by their frequency. By determining the demand type and applying the (S, T) and (s, S) periodic review inventory models, the optimal amount for the maximum inventory level and the time elapsed between each review are established. When analyzing the data, it was determined that 32 products did not have any rotation, with an estimated investment of $6,135,095 MXN. In addition through the new proposal, an excess inventory with an estimated value of $3,321,130.64 was identified.Keywords: Logistics, inventory models (S, T) and (s, S), batch size, ABC, periodic review.
