ABSTRACT:
The concept of creativity has not always existed. In its beginnings, it was seen as something of a divine nature. From the twentieth century began to be applicable as a human quality, although only attributable to artists. Nowadays, it is applied in all areas including design, engineering and science.
TRIZ is a set of tools that allows automating the creative process in the world of engineering. Highlights the proposal of 40 inventive principles that help break the psychological inertia when solving technical problems. The matrix of contradictions suggests the most likely inventive principles to be used depending on the problem.
In this article, the probability of solving an inventive problem was studied for the first time in the literature based on the principle used. Probability calculation model is based on the equiprobability of the proposed principles in each cell of the contradictions matrix. A simpler approach is also presented, calculating the frequency of appearance of each inventive principle in the contradiction matrix. With these two criteria, the 40 inventive principles have been classified, establishing the relative importance between them.
Although both methods of classification of the inventive principles have similar tendencies, it is explained why the probability calculation of solving a problem of each principle is more realistic. There is a great asymmetry existing between some inventive principles and others. It is concluded that the problems proposed by the contradiction matrix can be solved with a probability greater than 50% using only 25% of the inventive principles.
Keywords: creativity, TRIZ, inventive principle, contradictions matrix,
