The consumer is the weakest link in the chain of supply of electric power, and this statement reinforces its validity since Spain provided the opening to the competition in the electricity sector from 1998, since all users have the possibility of hiring the supply in the liberalised market with the provider they wish, but few have the actual ability to do so, either because they lack information or technical preparation to deal with an issue increasingly complex.
